FAQ's | Live Healthy Iowa 5K How do I register for Live Healthy Iowa 5K Event? Go to livehealthyiowa.org, select Challenges & Events, Live Healthy Iowa 5K. Choose to register online through the Register Online Now button, or mail us your registration by printing the Printable Registration Form. When is the last day to register? Registration opens January 8, 2024 for the 2024 Live Healthy Iowa 5K. Early registration closes March 25, 2024. Online registration closes 7 at the end of the day. Locations will have on-site registration the day of the event, T-shirts are NOT guaranteed with on-site registration. If I register the day of the event, will I receive a T-shirt? T-shirts are NOT guaranteed with on-site registration. What is a LHI 5K Coupon Code? The LHI 5K Coupon Code is only available for 10 week wellness Challenge participants. Those participating in the challenge receive a $10 discount on registration for the LHI 5K events. The coupon can be found on participants Live Healthy Iowa Dashboard or in weekly challenge emails. Can I run with a stroller? Strollers are permitted during the race. We love to promote a fun, friendly atmosphere. Participants will be asked to start the at the back of the pack as a courtesy to other runners. Can I bring my furry friend to the event? Dogs are permitted at race locations and course. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times. If the dog is out of control and the handler does not take action to control it, staff may request that the animal be removed from the area. Can I run with my child during the 1K Kid’s Run? Yes. We ask you stay to the side of the course to not interfere with other race participants. Will there be awards given? All runners participating in the 5K or 1K event will be given a finisher medal. Participants will also have the chance to win door prizes at the event. How can I view my race results? Race results will be posted on the Live Healthy Iowa website under the 5K Event. Participants will be able to view time results as they are received from host sites. Kids participating in the 1K will not have results, as their race will not be timed. Are the 5K courses a certified distance? No, 5K courses are not certified. All efforts are made to ensure an accurate and consistent distance. What happens in the event of threatening weather conditions the day of the race? The Live Healthy Iowa 5K Event may be canceled or delayed for any of the following conditions: tornado warning, tornado watch, thunderstorm, heavy rain, severe cold, or other major weather conditions. The local race coordinator and law enforcement have the authority to cancel the event. If dangerous weather conditions force a cancellation of the event, no refunds will be provided. Participants will receive an email with information on how to collect their race packet and medal. Will I receive a refund if the event is cancelled? Participation safety is the most important thing to the Live Healthy Team and coordinators. The Live Healthy Iowa 5K host sites maintain the right to cancel the event due to dangerous weather conditions or location safety concerns. In this case, there will be no refunds of any race entry fees or future event credits – funds have already been spent in preparation for race day. How will I be notified of a cancellation? All participants will be notified via email if there is a cancellation of the event. Live Healthy Iowa will also post delay and cancellation updates on their social media pages.
